Casemiro's wife hits back at criticism of Man Utd star with social media photo

Casemiro's wife has posted a picture of his huge trophy haul in the aftermath of the Brazilian being hooked at half-time as Manchester United were humbled by Liverpool.
The Red Devils were beaten 3-0 by their arch rivals on Sunday afternoon and Casemiro, who endured a poor second season at the club amid talk of a summer exit, endured the embarrassment of being withdrawn at the break with teenager Tom Collyer coming on to replace him.
The United midfielder gave the ball away in his own half which allowed Liverpool to open the scoring in the first-half. Casemiro was then dispossessed by Luis Diaz close to his own box, which allowed the Colombian to embark on another attack and notch his second.
Erik ten Hag made the decision to haul off his experienced midfielder, who was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, but now looks set to remain in Manchester. As he faces a wave of criticism his wife has stepped in to defend the midfielder.
Anna Mariana Casemiro, made her feelings clear as the 35-year-old posted a picture of his trophy cabinet on her Instagram stories late on Sunday evening - which featured the five Champions League titles that he won whilst at Real Madrid.
Casemiro's CV also includes three La Liga crowns, a trio of Club World Cups, numerous UEFA titles and a Copa America success. That said, after a stellar debut campaign, he hasn't produced his best football for some time and Gary Neville admits his substitution will have an internal impact.
He said on Sky Sports: "It was a bad one. When the stadium has around 20,000 fans left in it at the end in a major game like this, it is basically as bad as it can be. The impact of taking Casemiro off will reverberate around the dressing room because he is one of the leaders - a bit like the Harry Maguire situation a year-and-a-half ago when he was hooked."
Neville also referenced the difficult atmosphere at Old Trafford - with the fan base having to face another embarrassing defeat at the hands of Liverpool. That led to them lamenting some of their players with Casemiro having to face the music.
"Manchester United fans don't often boo," he said. "They don't often boo the manager, they don't often boo substitutions, they don't often boo players individually. And there's been a couple of times today [where they have].
"They will boo, generally, a performance at half-time when the players are going off if they're losing 2-0. But ordinarily they don't take out individuals and a couple of times today, they have. Casemiro in the first half and then obviously referring to Rashford with that boo."
