Some reported having issues accessing their emails on outlook: "Outlook is crashing too this morning. An updates from the Microsoft team?", one user wrote. Problems have been reported in the UK, France, Sweden, Italy, Holland and Belgium.

According to users, when loading Outlook, an error page appears: 'Your request can't be completed right now." Some are having issues viewing emails in their inboxes, sending messages and saving drafts. More than 800 issues have been logged on Down Detector. Some airports, railways and GP surgeries are also among those reporting problems.

Many users joked that the office software's outage would get them a few minutes off work this morning. One wrote: "What a fantastic way to start the week. Coffee, anyone?" Another joked: "Maybe Outlook Office stays down forever and we all just walk off into the sunset together."

Microsoft is yet to comment on the cause of the outage.
