Two men were arrested by the police for drug trafficking, a statement by the Police Force read.
The arrests were made following weeks of investigations, the police said.
After surveillance on a residence that was allegedly being used for drug sales, the police managed to enter despite the outer door having been barred from the inside with an iron structure, the police force said.
The police found two men in the apartment, as well as three women. "From a search conducted, a number of packets with substances suspected to be cocaine and heroin, ready to be sold, were found, along with other items related to trafficking."
"In further searches, the police found a bag with around 50 grammes of a substance suspected to be cocaine, along with cash."
The individuals are being held under arrest in the Police lock-up in Floriana. The two men are expected to be brought before the Court today, at around 11am before Magistrate Dr. Giannella Camilleri Busuttil.
