Oasis music promoters have not yet asked Dublin City Council for permission to hold two extra concerts next year, the Irish Mirror can reveal.

Speculation was rife Liam and Noel Gallagher would announce two more extra dates to their sold-out Croke Park shows on August 16 and 17, 2025 and such hope continues to grow after the Britpop icons confirmed two more dates for London next year.

Music promoters MCD have informed Dublin City Council of their intentions to apply for two outdoor event planning licences, which they have to do at least 13 weeks before the application deadline (ahead of the first concert) next year. But we can reveal they have not yet asked for permission for an extra two Dublin concerts despite reports that two additional Irish shows will be added to the Oasis Live '25 tour.

A spokesman for Dublin City Council told us: “An Outdoor Event Licence for the proposed Oasis concerts in Croke Park has not been applied for to date. An application for a licence must be made a minimum of 13 weeks in advance of the first proposed concert pursuant to the Planning and Development Act and associated regulations.

“All requirements contained in the Act and Regulations have been complied with by the Promoter in advance of advertising the offering of sale of the tickets for the two proposed concerts next August.”

But asked by the Irish Mirror to clarify if MCD asked for two extra dates to be added to the lineup, the spokesman said: “Dublin City Council is unaware of any proposals for additional Oasis concerts in Dublin City at this time.”

The band are set to play 17 sold-out dates in Europe before they head off to other continents while, on Wednesday evening, the group announced two extra shows in Wembley due to phenomenal demand, as well as a change to the ticketing system.

It is estimated that 14 million users were logged in trying to get tickets for the reunion gigs, which had already seen multiple extra nights in the UK added in a rush of demand. Fans have been urging the Gallagher brothers to get back together since they disbanded 15 years ago, reportedly prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009.

Noel, 57, quit the group on August 28, 2009, saying he “simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer” and the brothers have made negative comments about each other for more than a decade since.

While confirming the brothers’ acrimonious split was at an end on Tuesday by saying “the great wait is over” for the reunion dates, the band said Oasis Live '25 would be a world tour. Shows outside Europe will be confirmed at a later date, the band have said.

On Saturday, Noel was seen beaming as he watched Manchester City beat West Ham United 3-1 at London Stadium as the gig tickets went on sale.
