Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has come under fire from Celebs Go Dating viewers for doing the show 'for publicity' after revealing a huge bombshell
Fuming Celebs Go Dating viewers have taken aim at Helen Flanagan for "wasting the show's time" after admitting she has a boyfriend.
The former Coronation Street actress, 34, dropped the bombshell news she has a 'secret boyfriend' in the episode on Tuesday evening. Show experts were left stunned as Helen admitted to being "in love" with footballer Robbie Talbot, 44, despite being on the E4 dating show.
Furious viewers accused Helen of not being honest on the show as she continued to go on dates with potential suitors. They have branded her involvement a "waste of time" and a "publicity stunt". One viewer said: "Helen just wanted to be on TV #celebsgodating." Another added: "Helen should pay the fee back #CelebsGoDating."

Someone else commented: "What a waste of time from Helen. Why even go on a show if you have someone else back home #CelebsGoDating." A fourth wrote: "They need to add into these contracts that if a celeb is found to be already dating someone then the fee gets pulled. #celebsgodating."
One fan declared: "Ahh Helen, I really liked you but you've clearly just been after some exposure and publicity. What a waste of time #CelebsGoDating." Someone else pointed out: "Wasn't Helen kissing her date like last week? But she has a boyfriend? #CelebsGoDating."
The mum-of-three dropped the bombshell during a fast-flirting event. Celebrities were armed with buzzers and a deck of "get to know you" cards as they went on speed dates. Helen appeared to struggle with the game as she failed to show any interest in the men she was paired with. She eventually told the experts she was struggling with the game because of her feelings towards Robbie.
She said: "Unfortunately I am comparing everyone to him [Robbie]. And it's making it very difficult now when I'm dating." Clearly shocked, expert Anna Williamson says in a piece direct to camera: "Pardon, you've got a boyfriend? Why on Earth did she not tell us about this?"
Asked by Dr Tara why she is only telling everyone about the relationship now, Helen continued: "My feelings have just got stronger and things have just got more intense. I actually could see something with this guy at home being something really quite lovely. I think I am in love with him."
It has been claimed Helen's boyfriend was "written into" the series as a show first, with bosses reportedly keen to keep the former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! contestant on the programme. A source told the Sun: "Helen tried to keep the relationship under wraps because of Celebs Go Dating.
"But that’s become difficult as their feelings have grown for each other. It came to a head when she was quizzed by the dating agents about why she was failing to pursue connections on the show. The one rule of CGD is stars must be single. But E4 bosses were desperate to keep her, so found a way to write Robbie into the show."
A Celebs Go Dating spokesperson said: “During the filming of Celebs Go Dating, the executive producers discovered that Helen Flanagan was in a relationship outside of the CGD process. Once this came to light, Helen was asked to be transparent with the agents and her fellow celebrities during her next filming day. As per the show’s guidelines, all participating celebrities must be single.
"After discussing the situation, it was decided that Helen and her partner, Robbie, would meet with the agents to assess their compatibility, and Helen would no longer date members of the public. These developments will be featured on the show starting from episode 10.”
