Mack Hansen has a dramatic new hairstyle ahead of his expected return to action this month.

The Connacht and Ireland star has not featured for the province since suffering a shoulder injury against Munster on New Year's Day.

But he is set to be fit for Connacht's United Rugby Championship opener against Munster at Thomond Park on September 21.

Hansen missed all of Ireland's Six Nations campaign and was also forced to sit out their summer tour to South Africa after suffering setbacks in his recovery.

Connacht head coach Pete Wilkins told last week how Hansen has done a full pre-season with the province.

“Mack is in full training, he has done a full pre-season with us," he said.

“We are happy with how he is tracking, but we probably won’t use him against Sale (whom they played in a friendly on Saturday).

"I don’t think that’s necessary at this point, but we’ll keep ramping him up and he’ll definitely get pre-season minutes with a view to being ready for round one.

“He is tracking nicely, but we most likely won’t use him this weekend."

A number of fans have took to social media to have their say on his new look, with one writing: "The result of injuring Mack and not having him play for 9 months... Sweet Jesus Christ above almighty."

Someone else said: "Baldy hell. I mean, bloody hell."

"Some folk shouldn’t be allowed to make certain decisions on their own," joked another.
