Where is Susanna Reid today? GMB host missing as co-star steps due to family emergency
Though she made her return to the set of Good Morning Britain this week, Susanna Reid was nowhere to be seen on Tuesday
Viewers of Good Morning Britain were left scratching their heads on Tuesday as Susanna Reid was nowhere to be seen - just a day after returning to screens.
After a long break from her hosting duties on Good Morning Britain, the 53-year-old presenter resumed her hosting duties on Monday alongside Ed Balls. However, on Tuesday viewers were surprised when it was clear she'd pulled out of the programme at the last minute.
While Balls was back at the helm of the breakfast show, Reid had been replaced by regular stand-in Ranvir Singh, leaving multiple TV fans to question her whereabouts, particularly so soon after her break.
"What happened to Susanna?", one of them wrote on X, otherwise known as Twitter. Another added: "Where is Susanna? Missed the start", while another then questioned: "Susanna having a day off already?"
Little did they know that, earlier in Tuesday's episode, Singh announced that Reid had stepped back from the show to take care of her ill son.
"If you're wondering where Susanna is, one of her boys has been taken ill overnight and she needed to stay with him, so we are here for you this morning", she said.
This comes after Susanna fronted an eventful instalment of the morning programme, which sparked fury among viewers. Outraged by the Oasis ticket fiasco, which unfolded throughout the weekend, Reid notably shared an angry message on live TV as she spoke out about the Britpop band during a chat with Balls, Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire.
After referring to comments made by MP Zarah Sultana, who suggested that Ticketmaster should be "nationalised" over on X, the host said: "If Oasis had said, 'we're going to have four set prices', I think I would have expected that from Oasis, actually.
"I'm not talking about the re-sale, I'm just talking about the main sellers, just 4 levels and then you don't get panicky the longer you're in the queue about how much you're paying." She struck out again moments later, referring to the exorbitant prices of tickets as she said: "It's too much, isn't it?", she asked Richard. "They're not airlines, they're Oasis."
In another awkward live TV moment, Reid was flabbergasted when comedian Jimmy Tarbuck compared her to her former GMB co-star Piers Morgan. "Do you know what my kids call you? Well, think of the guy you work with a lot, used to. And you're him. In a wig. Piers Morgan in a wig", he said.
Reid was clearly rattled as she took off her glasses in astonishment: "I'm Piers Morgan in a wig? I feel a little bit like Austin Powers this morning", she added, in reference to her attire for the day. Jimmy immediately jumped in to make it clear he meant to compliment her.
