Galway rescue crew springs into action after teenage swimmer caught 'in difficulty'
Rescue teams from RNLI and Rescue 115 were sent to Barna after the swimmer got caught in difficulty
Rescue teams were dispatched to help a person who had gotten into difficulty in Galway waters over the weekend.
Rescue teams from RNLI and Rescue 115 were sent to Barna after reports of a swimmer, who is understood to be a teenager, became caught in difficulty while at sea. Crew launched into action with lifeboats also being deployed to the scene.
Thankfully, upon arrival at the scene, teams were quickly informed that the person had been safely rescued and that the crew could return to the base.

Rescue 115 updated the public on the callout, assuring people that the person was safely rescued.
A spokesperson wrote in a post on social media: "Rescue 115 is now safely back at Shannon after tasking to Barna for a person in the water in difficulty, tasked along with RNLI Galway Lifeboat.
“Upon arrival overhead the scene at the same time as Galway Lifeboat we were both informed the person was rescued from the sea and Rescue 115 and Galway Lifeboat were stood down to return to their bases."
