Football fans were fascinated by the unique dynamic between Roy Keane and Daniel Sturridge during Sky Sports' coverage of Liverpool's 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford

Sky's decision to pair them as pundits for the big match was obvious in one way, as Keane is a former United captain and Sturridge enjoyed the best spell of his career at Liverpool.

But, in many ways, the pair are chalk and cheese, with the stern and unsentimental Keane contrasting with the excitable and breezy Sturridge.

And their differing personalities were very much on show during the television coverage of Liverpool's thumping win over United.

When Liverpool star Mohammed Salah joined the pundits at the side of the pitch, Sturridge joked about Salah's new hairstyle among other things.

Keane was seen rolling his eyes at Sturridge's behaviour, a fact that was not lost on the former Liverpool striker.

"Roy didn't like our exchanges," Sturridge said of his interaction with Salah. "It was a bit of banter together."

Keane responded: "Look, I warned you beforehand that you had to be humble in victory and defeat and you obviously didn't listen."

Sturridge protested, "I was having a chat with my old pal."

"It wasn't a chat," Keane replied. "That was a bromance thing going on."

The exchange came after Keane heaped praise on Salah, who hinted that this could be his last season at Anfield.

"He [Salah] was brilliant," he said. "He's a threat, his goal record, his little touches, his movement, and when you watch him live, he's a great example.

"I really enjoy watching him. Obviously it was hard to take for United today. But you got to give credit where it's due, and he's a world-class player."
