Annoying thing your cat might

You can spend hours telling your cat just how much you love them - all while knowing you'll never hear it back.

However, cats have their own way of showing their affection and appreciation toward their owners - but they can be easily missed if you don't know what you're looking for.

Letting you in on their 'secret' language, Cali Cat Crew on TikTok shared the five signs your cat loves you and has accepted you as part of their colony. Sharing one of the biggest indicators, the video says: "They follow you to the bathroom.

"Cat ancestors were desert animals and their natural instinct tells them water is scary. So your cat doesn't trust you going into the most terrifying room in your house alone." But that's not all because if your cat licks you, they could be trying to show dominance over you by grooming you."

The video adds: "Your cat licks you because they think you are a low-ranking cat in their colony." If your cat does zoomies when you get home, they're likely celebrating your safe return from 'hunting' for the colony. "Cats don't think we go to work to pay their bills," the video says. "They actually think we are out hunting for food.

"Every day, your cat worries about you being attacked by a bigger predator so they wait until you come home and do zoomies to celebrate that you made it home safely." But when you return home without food, your cat is more likely to start bringing you home their own kills.

The video adds: "Did you know that your cat is very disappointed at you coming home empty-handed every day? So they catch bugs at your house to feed you and show you how to be a successful cat. Finally, if your cat sleeps with you at night, it's a clear indicator that they trust and love you.

"Cats protect each other in their colony and sleeping makes them vulnerable to predators. So either your cat sleeps next to you to protect you thinking you are their kitten, or they feel you can protect them like you are their mum."

Commenting on her post, users shared the 'cute' behaviours their cat's carry out to show their love toward them, with one user saying: "My cat brings me a toy mouse for a treat." Another user added: "My cat does all of that but he does not kill bugs and bring them to me."

A third user said: "My cat comes in at night and sits on my face until I wake up - and sucks on my earlobes." One more user added: "I guess my cat hates me."
