Revenue officers have seized huge quantities of illegal drugs and retail goods in searches over the course of the last week worth hundreds of thousands.

In the week commencing on July 29, Revenue officers examining parcels at premises in Dublin and the Midlands seized 39kgs of cannabis resin and 11.8kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €473,000 over numerous operations. Detector dog Enzo assisted in seizures carried out in Dublin.

Various quantities of other illegal drugs, with an estimated value of €24,500, were also seized. The various quantities of other illicit drugs seized comprised: 128mls of cannabis oil, 1.16kgs of THC edibles, 41.7g of magic mushrooms and 11,215 Benzodiazepine, Diazepam, Zolpidem and Zopiclone tablets.

The illegal drugs were discovered, as a result of risk profiling, in parcels that originated in the USA, the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Spain, Thailand, Sweden and New Zealand. The parcels were destined for various addresses nationwide.

Revenue officers also seized a quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of approximately €119,000, due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.

The retail goods comprised: 425 items of Adidas, Balenciaga, Birkenstock, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Canada Goose, Celine, Chloe, Converse, Dior, Dr Martens, Golden Goose, Gucci, Hermes, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, New Balance, Nike, North Face, ON Cloud, Tiffany & Co, Tommy Hilfiger, Ugg, Under Armour and Yves Saint Laurent.
