Celebrity photographer Jenny McCarthy has shared her retirement verdict for her TV star husband Martin King.

The Virgin Media star has been working in the industry since 1989, having joined 98FM when it launched where he was one of their main on-air personalities at just 15 years old.

But Jenny said she doesn’t think her husband will ever retire from the industry – and believes he’ll end up working back in radio someday.

She said: "I don’t think he will ever retire. He may retire at some stage from the telly but that is not going to happen for a long time as far as he is concerned.

"He will always do something. He loves radio. He loves being on TV. He’s loving life. There is no retiring him," she said, laughing.

Jenny previously opened up to The Irish Mirror about her own health worries after undergoing surgery for two brain tumours.

The couple suffered a devastating blow two years ago when doctors discovered a second brain tumour after surgeons successfully removed the first one in 2010.

Jenny said to us that seeing Davina McCall go through the same procedure brought it all back to her.

She said: "It brings it all back to you. I was watching Davina thanking everybody and my heart – I knew what she was going through.. lying in the bed and recovering and her eye all black and blue.

"But she looked much better than I did. I looked horrendous.

"But it is that time when you’re trying to get your energy back and trying to remember things and having to write everything down.

"But it does bring it all back."

Davina McCall has provided a health update to fans.

Jenny said she feels lucky her health has been fantastic since her second brain surgery two years ago.

"Touch wood, my health is great.

"The first one came back but my first brain tumour I was having pain behind my right eye for the whole summer of 2010. I was putting it down to adrenaline that I use at weddings.

"By September I went to a wedding in Malta. The day before the wedding I was chilling out and I had that pain behind my eye again.. but I wasn’t working.

"So when I came home, I went to my GP and he sent me for an MRI.

"It was removed successfully. It was quite a big operation and then two years ago it came back.

"My brain surgeon would’ve said to me two years ago that generally if it doesn’t come back after five years, then it is gone.

"I wonder what I did wrong or what I did do. I suppose I was having pain behind my eye again.

"Then there it was. It was a gut feeling more than anything.

"Mine was around my frontal lobe around my speech, language and memory area.

"I think I was very lucky again this time. Please God it doesn’t happen again but I am a very confident person, I believe if you keep yourself healthy, you will be well."

Jenny had the support of her husband Martin but she admitted it must’ve been a horrible time for the famous weatherman and TV host.

She revealed Martin refused to tell her how he felt during her surgery.

"It was horrible when I think back and I remember the day when I had to go in two years ago and Martin was going to drive me over to the hospital but I just thought – I can’t let him do that.

"I drove my car over and left it in his sister’s house and we got Chinese that evening and she drove me down.

"There was no way I was saying goodbye to him at the door.

"I don’t know how he was because he won’t tell me how he was but I’m sure he wasn’t good.

"In my head, I just wanted to go in and get it out because I wanted to go back to work.

"That was the way I dealt with it," she added.
