Derry City confirm Tiernan Lynch as the club's new manager
Derry City made the announcement on social media.
Derry City have confirmed that Tiernan Lynch will take over as their new manager after agreeing a deal to leave Larne.
Ruaidhri Higgins left his role as Derry manager following their defeat in the FAI Cup final and the Brandywell club have acted quickly in finding his replacement.
New man Lynch brought back-to-back NIFL Premiership titles to Larne before guiding them to European football for the first-time ever as they continue to compete in UEFA Conference League.

Derry City’s CEO Sean Barrett released a statement on the club’s website along with the announcement.
“We met with Tiernan at the weekend and we were impressed by his vision and energy to take Derry City Football Club forward,” it read.
“He has overseen a massive development programme at Larne over the past few seasons and we are delighted that he was very keen to come to the Brandywell.
“There is a lot of work to do over the coming weeks in preparation for next season and we are very much looking forward to starting work with Tiernan later this week.”
The club said they will unveil their manager soon at a press conference.
Lynch kept tight-lipped before the announcement when speaking Tuesday night at a presser for the BetMcLean League Cup tie against Institute.
Lynch refused to speculate on speculation linking him with the Candystripes' hotseat following reports that the clubs are in negotiations.
"Right now, I'm the manager of Larne Football Club and I have a game to prepare for tomorrow night," Lynch stated. "That's pretty much where I'm at. At this stage I've nothing to tell anybody."
Larne also released a statement at the same time as Derry's post.
"We can confirm first team manager Tiernan Lynch and his assistant Seamus Lynch will be leaving the club to join Derry City, after compensation was agreed between both clubs," it said.
"They will take charge for the final time in Tuesday’s BetMcLean Cup tie away to Institute.
"Tiernan and Seamus arrived at Larne in May 2017 going on to oversee the incredible success enjoyed at Inver Park in the last seven and a half years under their stewardship.
"Promotion to the Premiership was secured in April 2019, while the club’s 33-year wait for a senior trophy came to an end when the County Antrim Shield was won for the first time in December 2020.
"The Shield would be clinched for a remarkable four seasons in a row, while the club made history by achieving qualification for European football for the first time in June 2021.
"This feat was followed up the following season, while further history was made Larne won the Irish Premiership for the first time in April 2023.
"The Invermen made it back-to-back titles the following year and this past year has seen Larne become the first team in Irish League history to qualify for the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League."
