First Manchester United star breaks silence on new manager Ruben Amorim
Ruben Amorim is poised to become Manchester United's new manager and the Sporting Lisbon boss is already receiving plaudits from members of the Red Devils' squad
Manchester United star Diogo Dalot has vowed that he and his team-mates 'will be ready' once 'good manger' Ruben Amorim takes charge.
Defender Dalot has become the first United player to comment on Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim since the Portuguese entered talks to make the move to Old Trafford. United have agreed a €12million (£10m) deal with Sporting which will see Amiron, who's just 39, and three members of his backroom staff swap Portugal for the Premier League.
Although Amorim won't be in charge until the Red Devils' first game after the international break, a trip to Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 24, Dalot is excited by the prospect of working under such a highly-rated coach and a compatriot. After Wednesday's rousing 5-2 win at home to Leicester City in the Carabao Cup, Dalot declared to Sky Sports : "Obviously he is a good manager.
"We don't know if he's coming or not, we see the rumours like everybody. But we will focus on what we have here, doing our job. What the future brings, we'll be ready."
In September, Dalot's United, team-mate, Bruno Fernandes had similar things to say about Amorim, who at the time had recently been in talks with fellow Premier League clubs Liverpool and West Ham, but ultimately stayed put. Former Sporting captain Fernandes explained to CNN Portugal : "Since Mr Amorim arrived at Sporting, it has been one of the teams to practise better football.
"They have been consistent, the signings have been right and they are in a very good moment. It's a very well-prepared team. In relation to Amorim, it shows that at this moment he is prepared.

"Coaching Sporting and winning championships is not easy, Sporting went 20 years without winning championships and Amorim arrived and has already won two. This shows that the work has been done well If he could manage to do the same in England, Spain or anywhere else, you will never know until you get there, but I am sure his qualities are there for everyone to see."
Amorim will take charge of his third-to-last game as Sporting boss on Friday, hosting Estrela da Amadora as the reigning Portuguese champions look to continue their 100 per cent start to the season. He won't comment further on United, though, until after the final whistle.
"I'll leave it until the end of the game," Amorim told reporters on Thursday. "I'll talk about all these issues. Everything will be clearer. Talking now is just another destabilization for the squad. The focus at the moment is Estrela da Amadora."
