Four family members have been arrested and charged over the alleged abduction and attack of a 23-year-old woman married to their relative. The 45-year-old Guatemalan pastor Luis Alfredo Tiul Sr and 59-year-old Matilda Games, also from Guatemala, are facing accusations of administering a noxious substance following the harrowing events in Belmopan, the capital of Belize.

Additionally, Luis Alfredo Tiul Sr is slapped with charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, wounding and sexual assault, according to reports from Belize News. Their 24-year-old son, Luis Alfredo Tiul Jr, has also found himself under arrest, facing charges of aggravated assault and wounding, along with 43-year-old Elizabeth Tiul, a Mexican housewife, who has been charged with kidnapping, wounding and aggravated assault.

The case echoes with sordid details including a New Mexico corrections officer accused of organising attacks on inmates in the showers and an Ohio foster mum implicated alongside her adopted 11-year-old daughter and disabled 32-year-old son in a tragic murder-suicide.

Bringing updates on this distressing case, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams spoke to the media, saying: "She managed to escape from them last night and the police encountered her. She has since made a report and the persons are in police custody at this time," reports the Mirror US.

He explained that the police believe all family members were involved in the incident, and further support will be offered to the victim as she seeks to recover. He said: "Certainly, we are looking at that and whatever help she may need then we will seek from other agencies, maybe even getting her a safe house if her family would not be able to keep her safe. We can see if we can speak to Haven House or some other institution until she can get herself back together."

This news comes in the wake of an urgent search for a Minnesota man recently paroled for murder after he was implicated in the murder of his pregnant wife and connected to another shooting. Mychel Stowers, 36, faces two counts of second-degree murder for the killing of 35 year old Damara Alexis Kirkland on October 19. She was roughly two months pregnant when she was shot, and officers discovered her body with ultrasound pictures strewn about and an unopened letter meant for Stowers in the postbox, as mentioned in Thursday's probable cause announcement.

Having been released from prison on parole in March for a second-degree murder conviction from a 2008 case, Stowers was residing in a halfway house under work release. On the day of the fatal shooting, he had obtained a special pass to visit someone the statement described as his former wife.

Despite filing for divorce this past June, it seems proceedings were not yet complete according to additional legal records.

The flat's owner stated that Kirkland's estranged husband was residing with her, a violation of the lease agreement as he wasn't listed on it. The owner announced she was being evicted, according to the statement.

Shortly after the report of Kirkland's shooting, police were called to a nearby carjacking where they discovered a 36 year old man injured on the ground. The man reported that he had left his car keys in the ignition with the engine running while he stepped out to dispose of rubbish.
