Padraig Harrington prize money

Padraig Harrington took home a cheque for $365,000 after recording his third tournament win of the season on the Champions Tour.

The 53-year-old won the Simmons Bank Championship in Arkansas on Sunday after a birdie on the last hole secured a two-shot victory over Y.E. Yang. Harrington's rounds of 67, 65, and 67 saw him finish on seventeen-under-par and continue his rich vein of form on the over-50s circuit.

The victory also gives the Dubliner the chance to win the season-long race for the Charles Schwab Cup for a second time.

Harrington has moved to fourth in the rankings, behind only Ernie Els, Steven Alker and Stephen Ames, and will have the chance to catch them at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Arizona next month.

Starting the final round in a tie for the lead with Alker, Harrington went to the turn in 32 shots thanks to birdies on the second, fourth, fifth and eighth hole.

Another birdie on the par-five 10th gave Harrington a commanding lead, but a bogey on the 14th hole gave the chasing pack a chance.

The three-time major champion kept his nerve, though, to par his way to the par-five final hole.

After finding the fairway off the tee with a long drive, Harrington could take a crack at the green and then two-putt for a two-shot victory.

While still competing regularly on the DP World Tour, Harrington has become a dominant force on the Champions Tour.
