Jadon Sancho continued his fine start to life at Chelsea with a win over Brighton, and Paul Pogba has already given his seal of approval.

Sancho provided his third assist in as many games in the Premier League since making his Blues debut earlier in the month. The winger completed a loan move to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day, and the west London side will see the deal turn permanent at the end of the season, should they finish 14th or higher.

Sancho saw a goal disallowed before winning a penalty for the Blues against the Seagulls for Cole Palmer to convert. The ex-Borussia Dortmund star then played in Chelsea's talisman to bag a fourth goal.

In recording that assist, Sancho became the third Chelsea player to get an assist in each of his first three Premier League games for the club. The 24-year-old joined Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas in achieving the feat.

After his contribution in Chelsea's 3-0 win over West Ham last week, Sancho posted a message on Instagram. It read: "Solid performance from the boys, have a great weekend, Blues".

Ex-United team-mate Pogba, who left the club in 2022 and is currently serving a four-year ban after testing postive for doping, praised Sancho. The Frenchman offered one word in reply to Sancho's post: "him".

While Chelsea's summer signing will be pleased with his performance on his first outing at Stamford Bridge for the Blues, he could not help but doff his cap to star of the show Palmer.

"Special afternoon to make my first appearance at the bridge," he wrote on Instagram. "Cole Palmer... no words needed!"

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been pleased with Sancho's efforts in west London thus far. The Italian coach believes his charge needs to feel love to perform at his best.

"It's very important," Maresca said earlier in September. "I have a feeling that Jadon is a guy that needs love. This is what I think when I spoke with him before he join us.

"Also I know he has the desire to show the player he is, but for me, it is just to enjoy football. This is the reason why they play. They are happy and want to play football, they want to enjoy football and then because they are good, they are going to do good things."
