Conor McGregor's whiskey and stout brands are among the top 20 when it comes to celebrity alcohol brands, a new study has found.

McGregor launched his Proper No. Twelve Whiskey brand back in 2017 and its popularity has skyrocketed since then.

SUch is the success of the whiskey brand, it is now the 7th biggest celebrity alcohol brand in the world.

Business and marketing experts QR Code Generator investigated some of the brands by looking at average monthly searches as well as Instagram followers.

Kendall Jenner's 818 Tequila topped the polls while The Rock's Tequila brand was in second place. Other celebrities in the top 10 include George Clooney and Ryan Reynolds.

McGregor's Forged Irish Stout brand was also included in the top 20.

Celebrity alcohol brands rose from fewer than 40 in 2018 to 350 in 2022 – an increase of almost 800%.

McGregor sold his Proper No. Twelve whiskey to Proximo Spririts back in 2021 with the sale reported to have been in the $130m range although other figures suggest the deal could have been worth over $500m.

“This agreement is exciting for my partners and me, and the potential is limitless," McGregor said at the time.

"Our vision is for Proper No. Twelve to continue its incredible growth worldwide and to keep bringing new consumers to the now-reinvigorated Irish whiskey market.”
