Furious Oasis fans say it is time for the band and Ticketmaster to do some talking after staying silent following's Saturday's price surge uproar.

A flurry of complaints was ignited by the dynamic pricing model, where original sale tickets for the reunion tour saw prices soar past €400, a significant hike from the initial €86.50 price tag when sales kicked off on Saturday. In 2022 it was decided that when there is an increase of demand, a limited supply are allowed to go up in price.

The firm describes its "Platinum" tickets as those that have their price adjusted according to supply and demand and seething fans were stunned over the weekend. They say the point of the dynamic pricing system is to "give fans fair and safe access to the tickets, while enabling artists and other people involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their true market value".

But thousands discovered the existence of the hike for the first time when attempting to buy for Oasis and have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to make their feelings known. One wrote: "I think dynamic pricing (aka ripping off fans) can only happen if a band agrees, if so, what Oasis have done to their fans is unforgivable. They became the touts."

Another put: "The silence from Ticketmaster & Oasis is deafening! Who set dynamic pricing and was dishonest about face value?" while a third person posted: "They should be ashamed, turning fan excitement into a money grab. This greed is ruining what should be a joyful experience. #Ticketmaster #Oasis #Oasis25."

In the UK, Government officials are poised to scrutinise "dynamic pricing", in the wake of widespread frustration about the "depressing" and sky-high prices for Liam and Noel Gallagher's highly anticipated performances next year. A previously announced UK government consultation on ticket resale websites is set to launch this autumn.

However, a wave of criticism from Oasis enthusiasts, who faced inflated ticket costs after enduring lengthy digital queues, has prompted UK officials to also examine the divisive pricing strategy. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy voiced her commitment to clamp down on exorbitant ticket resales, aiming to guarantee that fans are charged "at fair prices", reports the Express.

Lucy Powell, the leader of the House of Commons, was among those stung by dynamic pricing over the weekend, ending up paying more than double the original quoted cost for an Oasis concert ticket. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, she admitted she wasn't a fan of surge pricing but conceded that "it is the market and how it operates".
