Adam Idah has completed a permanent transfer to Celtic after impressing on loan at the club last season.

Idah’s former club College Corinthians, from Cork, are set to earn around €807,000 from the transfer with total transfer believed to be an initial £8.5m with more in add-ons.

The Irishman began playing for the Corinthians at the age of six before moving to Norwich in 2017, with a sell-on clause included in the deal.

The 23-year-old will be hoping to add to his eight goals in 15 appearances for the Glasgow side last season with one of them being the winner at Hampden Park in a 1-0 win over Rangers.

Celtic began their league campaign with a 4-0 win over Kilmarnock before a 2-0 victory at Easter Road over Hibs.

Speaking on the move, Idah said: “I think everyone knew where I wanted to be. It’s amazing for me and I’m delighted to be back. Within the first couple of days of being here when I came on loan first time, I wanted to play for Celtic.

"It was amazing to get all of those goals and to be in with the boys and to see these amazing fans week in, week out was unbelievable. I’ve never experienced anything like it and I’m just so happy to be back.

“I always wanted to play for Celtic and obviously last season was amazing. To come here now and be fully a part of the team and a part of this club is amazing to me. Everyone back home, all my family and friends, they all wanted me to come back to Celtic, myself included, so it’s massive and I’m just so happy to be here."
