Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a woman in connection with ongoing investigations into the shocking events throughout the capital during the Dublin riots.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was arrested on Saturday morning and was questioned about 'public disorder events' in Dublin city centre on November 23.

She was detained at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The woman, who is the 51st person arrested in connection with the riots, has since been released pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone with information about the events on that day or anyone involved in organising or participating in these events to contact authorities.

If you have information, you can contact the Garda investigation team at Store Street Garda Station at 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

The Dublin riots last November saw hundreds of protesters take to the streets of the capital - before violent scenes erupted.

Numerous gardai were attacked and chased, force cars were damaged and set on fire, and a Luas and a bus were also set on fire amid the chaos – while significant damage was caused to buildings including at least one hotel. There was also widespread looting and robbery.

The damage caused by the riots is estimated to have cost up to €20 million to repair.
