Crew attached to Dublin Fire Brigade were dispatched to a series of incidents over the weekend, including a blaze at a public park, a hotel fire, a road collision and a house inferno.

Firefighters had a busy weekend with members of the fire service rushing to attend reports of a fire erupting at St. Anne's Park after smoke was seen billowing from the distance on Sunday.

Both firefighters and paramedics from Phibsborough and Tara Street were dispatched to a fire in a City Centre hotel on Saturday night, while firefighters and paramedics, along with members of the National Ambulance Service, were sent to a road traffic collision on the M50 on Friday.

On Saturday, firefighters in Tallaght were rushed to the scene of a house fire, with the crew warning people should have a minimum of one smoke alarm per floor.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus battled the St Anne's Park blaze bringing it under control and preventing the fire from spreading.

A spokesperson said: “North Strand firefighters were called to St. Anne's Park this weekend following reports of a fire. Smoke was widely visible in the area and firefighters in breathing apparatus fought the fire and prevented any further spread.”

Regarding the city centre hotel fire, the crew extinguished the blaze and used a positive-pressure fan to ventilate the area.

A spokesperson said: “Firefighters/Paramedics from Phibsborough and Tara Street, along with a Turntable Ladder responded to reports of a fire in a City Centre hotel last night (Saturday). The fire was extinguished shortly after arrival and a positive-pressure fan was used to ventilate the area”.

Lastly, following the house fire, Dublin Fire Brigade warned households to ensure they have a minimum one smoke alarm on every floor.
