Two men have tragically lost their lives, with two other men hospitalised following a three-vehicle collision involving motorcycles in Meath.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of the fatal collision which occurred at Bellaney, Oldcastle, Meath, at around 4:40pm. Two males, both aged in their 30’s, have been pronounced deceased at the scene.

One man has been conveyed to hospital for treatment for serious injuries while one other man has been conveyed to hospital for treatment for injuries, which are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

The R195 road at Bellaney, between Oldcastle and Castlepollard, is closed for technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a fatal three-vehicle road traffic collision involving motorcycles, which occurred at Bellaney, Oldcastle, Meath, today, Sunday 28 July at approximately 4:40pm."

They added: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R195 road at Bellaney, Oldcastle, Co. Meath, between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday 28 July, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.”
