Katie McCabe has travelled to France to cheer on Caitlin Foord at the Olympic Games.

The Republic of Ireland captain and her Arsenal teammate Foord have shared a number of photos together in recent months, having enjoyed a holiday in Majorca earlier in the summer, with McCabe sharing a snap of them holding hands on social media from the Balearic island.

Prior to that, they visited Rome in May, with McCabe captioning a post of them from the Italian capital; "Amore," which translates to love.

And the Dubliner has now visited France to cheer on Foord at the Olympics. McCabe shared a series of photos from the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille, where Australia were defeated 3-0 by Germany on Thursday in their opening Olympics game.

McCabe attended the match with Foord's mother Simone and fellow Ireland teammate Grace Moloney and wore an Australia jersey for the occasion. One of the photos shows the Ireland star hugging Foord after the match, while she added a photo of the Australia star on Saturday morning, commenting on it: "Breakfast date."

McCabe jetted off to France after helping the Girls in Green to a famous 3-1 victory over France in Cork earlier this month.
