Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of 20 year-old Jordan Paeknham in Tallaght on Friday have arrested a second person.

Gardai arrested a woman in her 30s, on suspicion of alleged offences connected to the fatal assault in the Drumcairn Estate, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

The woman is currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Dublin Garda Station.

Gardaí believe that the fatal stabbing was linked to an attempt to break into a van in the estate.

A 35 year-old man arrested on Friday remains in Garda custody at this time.

A postmortem examination of the deceased was completed Friday, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons. Investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward, particularly those who were in the Drumcairn Estate area of Tallaght, Dublin 24, between 3am and 4am on Friday July 26.

Additionally, individuals with video recordings, including motorists with dash cam footage, from the area within the timeframe are asked to provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with any information that can assist Gardaí with this investigation is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Mr Pakenham was the eldest of four children in a family from the Rossfield area of Tallaght, around a kilometre from the scene of the stabbing. His friends and family have been posting tributes to the young man on social media throughout the day. “God help him, he was a lovely kid,” wrote one person.

“I’ve no words you sweet, sweet kind-hearted gentle soul we all knew and loved you as! Your gonna be missed by so many man, including meself. Rest easy Paco, gone way too soon G, thinking of all your family,” added another.
