Big Brother will return to screens in a matter of months as the return date for the hit reality series has been 'confirmed'.

The new series will run for six weeks according to reports and will also run alongside the Late & Live spin off show and live stream offering. According to Super TV the 21st series will launch on October 6 on ITV who are yet to confirm the launch date.

However, Super TV made the reveal on X writing to fans: "BREAKING NEWS Big Brother UK will return on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6th, 2024! The 21st series is currently set to air again for 6 weeks, Sunday - Friday, with nightly Late & Live and online Live Stream! #BBUK."

Big Brother
Fans were delighted to see Big Brother return last year

However, while excited at the announcement some fans were left disappointed at the relatively short duration of the show with the scheduled six weeks deemed not long enough. One furious fan scathed: "They said they were gonna do 8 weeks, 6 weeks is way too short."

A second said: "6 weeks is way to short, why don’t they listen to us." A third noted: "Big Brother needs a longer run, 6 weeks just isn’t enough. It felt rushed towards the end of the last series to whittle down the housemates. Hopefully the launch will be live too, and not that pre-recorded mess like last year."

A fourth social media user commented: "Ugh. Such a short series again why can’t it be longer. Six weeks is just not enough." A fifth ranted: "6 weeks ugh. I’m grateful we’re getting anything at all but I was really hoping for a longer series this time."

Jordan Sangha was crowned the winner in 2023

Another pointed out that there will also be no Saturday episode as they offered: "6 weeks? No Saturday episode? LAME! Channels 4 & 5 remain superior!!! @ITVX please give us more weeks. Like 8 would be perfect."

In 2023 Jordan Sangha won his series of Big Brother as it returned after a lengthy hiatus, taking home the £100,000 cash prize. Then David Potts was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year after an action-packed series that saw stars including Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne as well as Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and former This Morning host Fern Britton taking part.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin eventually finished in second place after winning over viewers with his kind-hearted outlook on life in the Big Brother house.
