Abruzzo to be star of Italy Pavilion from June 15 to 21
Region to promote its excellence, companies on the global market
The Abruzzo region will have an area
of the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka devoted to it from June
15 to 21, 2025, thanks to an agreement with the Commission
General for Italy's participation at the Universal Exhibition.
Abruzzo will showcase the best of its cultural, tourism and
business excellence during this week, presenting the
international public with a snapshot of its extraordinary
identity.
"The bond between Japan and Abruzzo is deep and rooted in
reciprocal solidarity, as shown also in extremely difficult
moments," said Ambassador Mario Vattani, the Commissioner
General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka.
"Expo's theme, Designing Future Society For Our Lives,
represents a precious opportunity to share solutions to common
challenges.
"This participation opens up new scenarios for the
internationalization of Abruzzo companies, the promotion of
regional excellence and the attraction of investment.
"Flagship products, such as its renowned truffles, will become
ambassadors of the quality and biodiversity of our agri-food
heritage.
"Abruzzo is also staking a claim to be an authentic, innovative
tourist destination, with its historic hamlets and alternative
tour itineraries capable of offering unique, sustainable travel
experiences.
"This is all accompanied by research and innovation projects
promoted by the universities of the region and of central Italy,
strengthening academic and scientific cooperation".
Abruzzo Governor Marco Marsilio also expressed satisfaction.
"A Region like ours couldn't miss an event like this," Marsilio
said.
"Japan is synonymous with beauty and the multifaceted beauty
that Abruzzo can offer will not fail to excite Japanese people
and all the visitors who come to Osaka from all over the globe.
"It's not just about tourism - craftsmanship, food and wine,
research and innovation will also be our business cards.
"We will proudly contribute our proposals to increase the beauty
of this pavilion".
Abruzzo signing-up for Expo 2025 Osaka means that 18 of Italy's
20 regions have confirmed that they will participate, proof of
Italy's combined commitment at all institutional levels to
promote its regions.
This process, which was launched in March 2024 with the signing
of an agreement between the Commission General and the
Conference of Regions, seeks to valorize Made in Italy
excellences and strengthen local enterprises' competitiveness on
international markets.
Expo 2025 Osaka will be more than an international showcase: it
will also be an opportunity to reaffirm the key role Italy's
regions play in promoting the identity that defines our country,
consolidating Italy's image as a lead cultural and economic
player at the global level.
