Italian journalist publishes first X post since release by Iran
Journalist Cecilia Sala expressed
delight at being back home in Italy on Thursday in her first
post on X after her release by the Iranian authorities on
Wednesday.
"I have the most beautiful photograph of my life, my heart full
of gratitude, those who cannot yet see the sky when they look up
in my head," Sala said in the post featuring a photograph of her
stepping off the plane's steps after arriving in Rome and
embracing her partner Daniele Ranieri.
Sala, 29, a reporter for the Il Foglio newspaper and a podcaster
for Chora News, was arrested in Iran on December 19, three days
after the Milan arrest of an Iranian engineer wanted on US
charges.
