3 dead, search for missing after Ercolano blast
Number of dead may rise
At least three people are dead and
rescuers are looking for missing persons after an explosion in a
warehouse at Ercolano near Naples Monday.
The number of missing is not yet known.
The warehouse may have contained fireworks, police said.
It is in an isolated spot on the municipal boundary between
Ercolano and San Giorgio a Cremano.
Ercolano is the site of ancient Roman Herculaneum, buried like
Pompeii by the 79 AD eruption of Vesuvius.
The dead have yet to be identified.
