Centre left set to win Emilia-Romagna, dead heat in Umbria
De Pascale likely winner in E-R, Tesei-Proietti locked in Umbria
The centre left looks set to retain
Emila Romagna and the race in Umbria looks like a dead heat,
according to exit polls after the regional elections Sunday and
Monday.
Centre left candidate for Emilia-Romagna governor Michele de
Pascale is on 53%-57% while his centre-right rival Elene Ugolini
has 39%-43% in the first Opinio Italia exit poll for Rai state
broadcaster.
De Pascale appears to be heading for a clear win, pollsters
said.
Emilia-Romagna has never been won by a centre-right candidate in
the 54 years history of Italy's regions.
The race to be Umbria's next governor is a head to head between
incumbent centre-right candidate Donatella Tesei and centre-left
challenger Stefani Proietti, according to the first exit Opinio
Italia poll for Rai state broadcaster.
Tesei has between 46.5% and 50.5% in the poll while Proietti is
on 46%-50%.
The race looks too close to call, pollsters said.
