An AC Milan ultra chief detained at the end of September in a probe into alleged mafia-style extortion at the San Siro was served another arrest warrant on drugs charges related to the Calabrian 'Ndrangheta mafia on Monday.
The man, Luca Lucci, received the warrant as part of another investigation by the DDA anti-mafia office into an association, allegedly close to the Barbaro 'Ndrangheta gang, which allegedly "imported and distributed", between Lombardy and Calabria, "over 2 tons of narcotics", police said.
On September 30 Milan police carried out dozens of arrests and seizures in a major operation against alleged clans of AC Milan and Inter Milan football 'ultra' fans on a number of charges including Mafia-style criminal association, extortion and causing bodily harm.
The suspects are 'ultra' fan leaders of the two football clubs in Milan who are allegedly implicated in businesses connected to the world of soccer, according to investigative sources.
Investigators believe the ultra chieftains resold Inter and Milan match tickets at extortionate prices, imposed monthly payments on parking spots at Milan's Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) stadium, controlled the sale of drinks and merchandise at the stadium, worked as bodyguards for celebrities and took part in punitive expeditions and brawls, among other things.
