Historic Dublin pub beloved by famous faces including Bono and Bruce Springsteen announces shock closure

Customers have been left heartbroken after an historic pub in south Dublin announced it has officially closed its doors.
Located in the heart of Dalkey village, The Queens is one of the oldest pubs in Ireland with a history dating back to 1745.
The boozer is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike and is well-known for being frequented by stars such as Bono, Bruce Springsteen and Enya.

But in a message shared on social media on Thursday, the landmark pub's owners confirmed that they are ‘officially closed’ as they thanked their staff and customers.
They wrote: "We are officially CLOSED. We would like to take the time to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your incredible support. To our team, customers, suppliers, and friends - your loyalty, hard work, and trust have meant the world to us."
Customers were left heartbroken at the news of the pubs closure, with many sharing memories from their time at the iconic boozer.
"So sad. Such an iconic pub that was part of Dalkey Village’s identity," said one person, with another adding: "Dalkey won’t be the same, very sad news, wishing u all the very best & thank u for making it a very special place."
Another person added: "So sad to read this. Always use Queens at pin point in Dalkey when talking about the area. Have many a great memories of Queens from Date nights, to meeting up with cousins and family & friends."
With another devastated customer adding: "So sad to see this. To me the Queens is the main pub in Dalkey. So many memories there. Center of the town, beautiful outside in the summer and always great food & staff."
The news comes just a week after beloved Dublin sports bar The Living Room announced its shock closure in a major blow for the city's nightlife scene.
The bar shut its doors for good on Monday (January 6), however the team has vowed it will be back, teasing an exciting new chapter which will be announced soon.
