The search is on to find Ireland's latest big Lotto winner, who landed a five-figure sum in last night's draw.

The player was excruciatingly just one number off scooping the jackpot of over €2.6 million - but can console themselves with a prize of €30,570 after picking five of the six winning numbers, plus the bonus. These were: 6, 17, 27, 28, 35, 44 and bonus 29.

National Lottery bosses have this morning confirmed that the big winner has yet to come forward and are appealing for players to check their numbers carefully. As part of the appeal, they have revealed exactly where the golden ticket was purchased.

It has been confirmed that the winning bet was placed at Supervalu on the Main Street in Ballybunion, Co Kerry on the day of the draw. It was a Quick Pick ticket.

The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and to keep it safe. They should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to collect their prize at Lottery Headquarters.

The National Lottery is urging all players in the Ballybunion area to check their tickets. Spokesperson Darragh O’Dwyer said: "Last night’s Lotto draw brought an avalanche of joy for one player in Ballybunion, County Kerry, who scooped a chillingly cool €30,570 prize! Don’t be left out in the cold - check your tickets today to see if you’re our next big winner!"

While there was no winner of last night’s Lotto jackpot worth €2,624,636, in total, over 50,000 players won prizes across Lotto and Lotto Plus draws.
