Gardai arrest woman in connection with hit-and-run as cyclist remains in critical condition
A woman aged in her 30s was arrested this morning and she is being detained in connection with the collision that took place earlier this week
A woman has been arrested after a serious hit-and-run collision earlier this week, which left a cyclist in critical condition.
Shortly before 6.30pm on Monday, January 6, Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of a collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist on the R132 in Dromiskin, Co Louth.
The cyclist involved in the collision, a male aged in his 40s, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to be treated for serious injuries. As of the time of writing, his condition is described as critical.

Gardai have now arrested a woman aged in her 30s in connection with the hit-and-run incident that took place near Whitehouse Cross.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Mirror: "A woman was arrested this morning and is being detained at a Garda Station in the Lough-Cavan-Monaghan Division under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
"Gardaí continue to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the collision."
