Roy Keane slams Trent Alexander-Arnold for performance in 2-2 draw with Manchester United
“There’s talk about him going to Real Madrid, the way he’s defending he’s going to Tranmere Rovers after this. He’s got to do better.”
Roy Keane pulled no punches when assessing Trent Alexander-Arnold's performance in Liverpool's 2-2 with Manchester United at Anfield.
The Liverpool right-back, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, was poor throughout the contest with Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes running riot down Liverpool's right flank in a clear tactic deployed by United.
Alexander-Arnold was let-off in the opening half when Rasmus Hojlund missed a 1v1 chance with the goal at his mercy. At half-time, Keane tore into the Englishman's performance and questioned whether Real Madrid is the correct destination for the defender.

“It’s too easy," Keane said when analysing Hojlund's first-half chance.
“Them chances for United (come from) a couple of balls over the top. We talk about how brilliant Trent is going forward, but Trent’s defending today; my goodness it’s like schoolboy stuff.

The right back's woes continued in the second-half with both of United's goals coming down his side.
Keane was particularly scathing of the 26-year-old's part in United's first goal, questioning the Reds' intensity during that period, and when Bruno Fernandes picked up the ball during that period of play following a loose Alexander-Arnold pass, Keane implored Trent to 'tackle him.'
United's equaliser also came down Liverpool's right-hand side as well and while Trent wasn't directly at fault for that goal, he was dragged into the centre of the box and perhaps could have done more to stop Alejandro Garnacho's low cross.
Even with the result, Liverpool remain six-points clear at the top of the table and still have a game in hand on second-placed Arsenal.
