Two women were taken to hospital, one of them in critical condition, after they were hit by a car in Fgura on Monday evening.

The two women, aged 34 and 24 from Nepal, were hit by a Toyota Hilux driven by a 20-year-old woman of Birzebbuga.

They were both taken to hospital, with the 24-year-old in critical condition while the other was grievously hurt.

The accident happened in Hompesch Road at 8pm.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia is leading an inquiry.
