ADPD asks Standards Commission

ADPD-The Green Party has asked the Standards Commissioner to investigate the appointment of Johann Buttigieg as thye Planning Authority's CEO.

In a letter to the commissioner, the party's deputy leader Carmel Cacopardo said it is a known fact that Buttigieg is currently serving as a consultant to developer Michael Stivala, who is also president of the Malta Developers Association.

Even if one were to ignore the controversies that Buttigieg was involved in when he served as PA CEO in the past, it is difficult to understand how Buttigieg can jump from being a consultant to a developer to running the regulator in the same sector.

It is humanly impossible to do this without having first spent a period of time completely distanced from the sector.

In this light, ADPD asked the commissioner to investigate.
