Leeds United and Sheffield United set for transfer window battle over forgotten Ireland defender
Premier League high-flyers Nottingham Forest are unlikely to stand in Andrew Omobamidele’s way in January.
Andrew Omobamidele’s Nottingham Forest nightmare could soon come to an end - with Championship title-chasing pair Leeds United and Sheffield United both weighing up loan moves for the Ireland international.
The Leixlip native has yet to play a single minute of Premier League football this season with the team that has soared to third in the table.
Omobamidele has only made the matchday squad in the league four times so far, and his solitary first-team appearance has come in the League Cup penalty shootout defeat to Newcastle United.

Last season he made 11 Premier League appearances, after a €14m move from Norwich City that could potentially rise in value to €23m.
Forest are open to sanctioning a loan move for the 22-year-old in January, with the possibility of a permanent City Ground exit in the summer.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke managed Omobamidele at Norwich, where the 10-time capped Ireland defender rose through the underage ranks before breaking into the first-team in January 2021.
However, Championship pace-setters Leeds could face competition for the youngster from third-placed Sheffield United.
They were linked with Omobamidele before his move to Forest a year and a half ago.
