A Status Orange rain/snow warning for Cork, Kerry and Waterford remains in place until 5pm on Sunday evening as heavy rain is expected to transition to sleet and snow, with significant accumulations forecast. The potential impacts of this include very difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, public transport delays, difficult conditions underfoot and animal welfare issues.
A Status Orange snow/ice warning will be in place for the counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wicklow, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary until 5pm as significant snowfall accumulations are anticipated in these regions, with the same potential impacts as above.
Another Status Orange snow/ice warning has been issued for all of Munster, as well as the counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly and Wicklow but this will remain valid until 8pm on Sunday as further falls of sleet and snow may lead to significant accumulations.
A Status Yellow snow/ice warning has been issued for all of Connacht and the counties of Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath and Wexford. This will remain in place until 5pm on Sunday.
All of Munster and Leinster, as well as Cavan and Monaghan, have been issued a Status Yellow snow/ice warning from 5pm Sunday until midnight.
Also from 5pm Sunday, a Status Yellow low temperature/ice warning comes into effect for all of Ireland and will remain valid until midday on Thursday as the country endures very cold nights with widespread frost and ice, and temperatures likely to remain below freezing throughout the day and overnight.
