Danny Jones' mum Kathy has revealed the most shocking part of the McFly star's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here experience, labelling it 'really unusual'
McFly star Danny Jones ' mum has landed Down Under as she gets ready to greet her son on the I'm A Celebrity bridge.
And she's revealed the thing that has shocked her the most about his time in the jungle. Admitting that watching the musician on TV has been an emotional rollercoaster, she has tipped the 38-year-old to win the ITV series, which airs on Virgin Media in Ireland, but admits one action has surprised her.
Speaking to the Mirror after landing in Brisbane, Kathy laughed when asked about Danny's reluctance to wash his pants. She said: "That's unusual for him. He's really clean. He's really hygienic. It's really unusual for him."
She also opened up on the moment she was brought to tears while her son struggled. "I was laughing watching him with the snake down his trousers and then the next day I was crying. It was different emotions. I just wanted to hug him. You don’t want to see your kids upset. It got me a bit. I am so proud of him…I think he could win and do it for the North."

Danny's emotional scenes came as he broke down in tears while opening up on his 20-year struggle with anxiety. He told his campmates he has been in therapy since the age of 19. He also revealed he once had a panic attack on live TV during an interview.
Kathy's admission comes after her daughter Vix Wright-Jones told the Mirror earlier in the week how Danny’s anxiety admission “killed her.” She said: “When I saw him get emotional, it killed me because I just wanted to give him a hug. He is a really emotionally intelligent person, and I really admire that he was able to open up about his anxiety.
“I think in sharing that vulnerable moment in front of the nation, a lot of people could relate, so hopefully that helped someone out there struggling too.”
The 40-year-old praised her younger brother for his honesty, saying it can help break down the barriers when it comes to men speaking up about their mental health. She continued: "I think it’s so important to see people share their mental health journeys, especially men, as there is still such a stigma we are fighting to break.
“I was so grateful of how the campmates rallied around him in that moment though, it made me very emotional. To show those layers to the public is very brave. A man who can sell out arenas as a musician and can also talk openly about his feelings is very special.”
Tuesday also saw the arrival of Tulisa's best friend Michelle McKenna, who opened up on her hopes of the N-Dubz star finding romance. Jane Moore's kids also touched down and quickly made a confession regarding their Loose Women star mum's trial hopes.
On Wednesday, Coleen Rooney's kids and family are set to arrive, but there will be no Wayne. The former England star is busy with his managerial career with Plymouth Argyle.
