Popular Michelin Guide restaurant in Dublin announces closure after 'struggling' for 2 years
The restaurant said that the decision to close was an "incredibly difficult" one and that they had "battled for the last two years to keep going, however we simply can't continue any longer"
Potager, a restaurant in Skerries in north Dublin that has featured in the Michelin Guide, has sadly announced its closure after six years.
The team at Potager took to social media to express their heartache over the decision, stating it was "incredibly difficult", adding that they "battled for the last two years to keep going, however we simply can't continue any longer," reports Dublin Live.
They shared their heartfelt thanks to their customers, saying: "We have had the most wonderful times over the past almost 6 years. We have made great friends and have had the privilege of meeting some of the most lovely customers, who we would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts."

They added: "Looking after all of you never felt like work and made the business struggles disappear as soon as you all walked through the door. As for our staff over the years, we have been so lucky to have some of the hardest working, best spirited, and loveliest people on the planet working in Potager, all of whom helped to make it the special place was."
They also expressed gratitude towards their suppliers: "Lastly our suppliers, some of the most amazing hard working people you will ever meet. Thank you all, we will miss you."
The closure has left many regulars and admirers of the restaurant in shock, including celebrity chef Neven Maguire, who commented: "Such sad news I'm honestly so sad to read this. You had the most wonderful place and team." TV personality Donal Skehan also chimed in with support, saying: "So sorry to hear this guys! You were the dream team. Sending lots of love."
The foodie duo GastroGays described the move as 'heartbreaking', saying: "This is so heartbreaking, what a phenomenal loss to the area and to the restaurant scene in Ireland, have always adored what you guys have brought to the table, wish things were easier these last couple of years."
