George Baldock cause of death

George Baldock's cause of death was "drowning in water" following a post-mortem in Greece.

The 31-year-old was found dead in the swimming pool of his villa on Wednesday night. Athens-based publication Kathimerini has reported the news after a post-mortem examination was completed in the Athens. Baldock was understood to have been dead for five hours before he was found.

Toxicology tests undetaken during the autopsy - including whether alcohol was present in his system when he died - will take 'several days' to come back, it was also stated. Baldock was found unresponsive in his pool after his partner, who was in the UK, reportedly raised the alarm because she was struggling to contact him.

A spokesman for Greece's Hellenic Police said: "A forensic pathologist was called to the scene and examined the body with no evidence of criminal activity. The police searched the house to determine if there were any signs of a burglary with a negative result.
