Tommy Bowe has teamed up with his former rugby teammate and fellow presenter Donncha O'Callaghan for an exciting new project.

The Ireland AM star and former 2FM host have joined forces to launch their very own podcast called The Offload.

Tommy and Donncha announced the news on social media, revealing that the first episode goes live this Friday.

Donncha said: "We were gonna call it, 'I Can't Believe It's Another Podcast', but The Offload's way better."

Tommy chipped in: "Make sure to check it out every Friday. We're gonna discuss everything and a bit of rugby and have a laugh."

The Instagram caption read: "The secret is out. We’re gonna be covering the big stories and sharing our own. We’ll chat plenty of rugby and have a bit of craic while we’re at it!"

Friends and followers of the former Ireland players were thrilled to hear the news and sent the duo their best wishes.

Donncha's former 2FM Breakfast co-host Carl Mullan said: "Unbelievable news, gwannn the lads can’t wait. Can each episode open with 'WHAT ABOUT HER EYES?'."

While Tommy's Ireland AM colleague Elaine Crowley added: "Oh that looks like trouble!"

Since retiring from rugby, Tommy has become one of the nation's best loved presenters. He joined Ireland AM in 2020 following Mark Cagney's departure, and also hosts rugby coverage for BBC.

Bowe hung up the boots in 2017 after an illustrious career with Ireland, Ulster, and the Ospreys.

Bowe won Six Nations crowns in 2009 and 2015 as well as three Celtic League titles (now called the URC). He was also selected for the British and Irish Lions squads in 2009 and 2013.
