Singer Sabrina Carpenter has revealed why she cast her boyfriend in her music video for hit song, Please, Please, Please.

The Espresso star said she wanted the “greatest actor in the world” to be in her hit video and it was a no brainer to ask the Dubliner.

She told Page Six: “I, genuinely — like, a not-even-biased opinion — I was like, ‘Who’s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?’

“And he was next to me in a chair. And he was so excited about it.”

The music video sees Sabrina sitting in a holding cell – having been arrested at the end of her Espresso music video – before catching the eye of her Summerhill beau as he gets thrown into prison.

The 25-year-old, who met Keoghan last year during Paris Fashion Week, is seen waiting for him on the outside as he is later released, and the video follows the pair as she aids in him kidnapping a man and robbing a bank.

Barry then gets rearrested, and Sabrina is again waiting for him on the outside, before handcuffing him to a chair and putting duct tape over his mouth and kissing him. Sabrina said Keoghan likes her music “a lot”. “He likes the song, which is great,” adding he “does like [her] music a lot.”

It comes after Sabrina told Variety in August that she thinks her boyfriend is “one of the best actors of this generation”.

She said at the time: “I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation. So getting to see him on the screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and all the more special.”

She also recently opened up to Rolling Stone about dating. She said: “The (dating) pool is the pool, and when you meet people that feel authentic and are so brilliant and amazing in every way, that’s what you do.

"Obviously, I write songs about exactly how I feel, so I guess I can’t be so surprised that people are interested in who and what those songs are about,” she added at the time. “That’s something that comes with the territory.”
