John Kiely clearly means business in 2025 - if his backroom shake-up is anything to go by.

Kiely’s Limerick missed out on an All-Ireland five-in-a-row this year, losing out to Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final, but completed a Munster six-in-a-row.

Ex-Limerick captain Donal O’Grady has left Kiely’s backroom team to take over as Limerick minor boss.

Former Antrim hurler Cairbre Ó'Cairealláin, who previously worked with Tipperary, has left his full-time strength and conditioning role.

High-Performance Manager Joe O’Connor, who joined the set-up last year after Caroline Currid left, is also departing. Clare man Aonghus O'Brien is also gone, with some high profile additions.

Coach/selectors Alan Cunningham and John Flavin return to Kiely’s management team, while Cappamore’s Liam Cronin comes in as a coach.

Adrian O’Brien - the father of rising Limerick star Shane - is Limerick’s new strength and conditioning coach, with Paul Kilgannon set to take the role of team performance coach. Lead coach Paul Kinnerk remains on board.

Earlier this year Kiely agreed a two year extension to his term which will take him up to the end of the 2026 season, and see his tenure extend to 10 years.

He is already comfortably the longest serving manager Liam MacCarthy cup manager in the country, having completed eight seasons in charge.

Clare manager Brian Lohan has been at the helm for five years with Pat Ryan, Liam Cahill, Derek Lyng and Johnny Kelly completing two years in Cork, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Offaly respectively.

Keith Rossiter has completed his first year in Wexford. 2025 will see first year managers in Galway (Micheal Donoghue), Dublin (Niall Ó Ceallacháin), Waterford (Peter Queally) and Antrim (Davy Fitzgerald).
