Ireland coaching staff past and present sat awkwardly close to each other last night as Stephen Kenny, Heimir Hallgrimsson and John O'Shea were in attendance at Bohemians v Derry City's FAI Cup semi-final clash.

The trio were separated by just a few seats at Dalymount Park last night, with current Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson sitting next to assistant manager John O'Shea, while ex-Ireland boss and current St Pat's manager Kenny sat a few seats to the left of them.

Kenny managed Ireland between 2020 - 2023 and left the job last November at the end of his contract. John O'Shea took interim control of the team for two International windows in early 2024, before Hallgrimsson was appointed in July.

O'Shea had previously worked as one of the many assistant managers that Stephen Kenny had in his time as Ireland boss, and holds the same position now in Hallgrimsson's coaching set-up.

The New Ireland boss saw Michael Duffy light up Dalymount last night as Derry marched into the FAI Cup final, where they will face either Drogheda United or Wexford in the showpiece at the Aviva Stadium.

For Hallgrimsson, his focus will be on International matters next week as he goes looking for a first win as Ireland manager when the Boys in Green take on Finland and Greece in the Nations League next week.
