Westlife singer Nicky Byrne could be set to announce a new podcast as he sends fans wild with a cryptic social media post.

The Dubliner dropped a major hint about his next solo project, just weeks after finishing a two-year mega tour with the band.

Nicky took to Instagram and posted a picture with a shushing face emoji in the caption, with the word "podcast" in the background.

The singer's silhouette is in the front of the photo and the background is slightly hard to see as it has a blue cast over it.

Other giveaway clues include a mic right beside Nicky's head in the snap.

Miscellaneous items can also be seen such as gloves, a Coca-Cola glass, a Teenage Ninja Turtles figure and a sign that has a laundry schedule on it.

Since the beginning of the year, Nicky has been sharing snippets of A-list celebs in his home.

The 45-year-old has invited singer Tom Davis, Scott Robinson, Sky Sports icon Chris Kamara, boxer Wayne McCullough and Take That star Gary Barlow in for a pint of Guinness in his home pub.

He also recently had Louis Walsh in his home, where he showed his manager how to pour a decent pint of the black stuff.

One follower wrote: "Whatever you're up to, Nicky, we’re ready for it! The suspense is real!"

Alice said: "I'm ready, I can't wait for this to start! Nicky the best of success, I know it will be great, amazing."

Arly commented: "I’m anxious, so much success with your new project (podcast) Nicky well done!! I can’t wait to hear it!!"

Another fan added: "What are you cooking up, Nicky?! We’re on the edge of our seats!"
