Wolfe Tones could open for Oas

The Wolfe Tones could be the opening act for Oasis at Croke Park, following Liam Gallagher's statement that he is "up for it".

Liam and his brother Noel have always been proud of their Irish roots, with their mother hailing from Charlestown in Co Mayo and their father hailing from Meath. Excitement has been steadily building over the past month after the two brothers announced a surprise reunion for 2025 - with two sold-out dates set for Croke Park.

No official support acts have been announced yet, but several bands have been suggested online to fill the slots, including Dublin rockers Fontaines DC, Blossoms, the Manic Street Preachers and Kasabian. Another iconic Irish band has also been suggested - and Liam seems interested, reports Dublin Live.

After posting "Beautiful people, what's popping?" on Twitter on Sunday morning, an account named Irish Unity asked: "What about the Wolfe Tones opening at Croke Park?" Liam quickly replied: ""I'm up for it, let's do it."

The band themselves then shared Liam's reply, along with two green hearts and a tricolour. Liam's post received almost one thousand likes in just a few hours, with social media users loving the idea.

"Get it done Liam! I'm already buzzing for Dublin! Adding the Wolfe Tones to the mix would be the icing on the cake. Aslan too please!" one fan wrote. Another quipped: "All those English people who got tickets won't know what's going on," poking fun at UK Oasis fans who snapped up tickets for the Croker gig before dates were released in Britain.

Meanwhile, The Wolfe Tones have said playing support for Oasis at Croke Park next summer would be their ultimate dream performance. The band's songwriter Brian Warfield recently shared his thoughts on the exciting possibility, coming off the back of a record-breaking turnout at Electric Picnic. He expressed: "The main ambition for the future is Croke Park with Oasis. That would put the icing on the cake.

Warfield clarified that while nothing is set in stone, the band has made it known they're keen to rise to the occasion. He continued: "I don't know. We've already created an interest that we would love to do it. I guess it's up to them and their management. We would just do our spot opening up for them and they would be part of their spot.

He concluded by saying: "People want to see Oasis and they might want to see The Wolfe Tones. They would want to see each of us doing our own thing."
