Simon Zebo shares photos from second wedding with childhood sweetheart Elvira Fernandez
Simon Zebo and his wife Elvira Fernandez have said I do for the second time, as they had their second wedding in Spain surrounded by their loved ones and their four children
Rugby star Simon Zebo and his wife Elvira Fernandez said their 'I do's' in a second wedding this week. The gorgeous couple initially tied the knot in 2022 at the five star Sheen Falls Lodge in Kerry.
This week, they ventured to the sunny principality of Altea, Spain to celebrate their love once again.
The couple have four children, and have been sweethearts since their teenage years.
Their children Jacob, aged nine, Sofia, aged eight, and Noah, aged five, and Isabella, aged two, were all in attendance for the special event.
Posting to social media, Simon wrote: "A summer for the books." He also shared a number of images to Instagram to showcase their celebration.
The couples initial wedding was in 2022, and Simon said that the day was marked with lots of fun and dancing.
"The day went brilliantly. We didn’t have the weather but we had an amazing photographer and videographer to capture the day. It’s a very cosy hotel so the winter weather kind of added to the day in a sense, it was magical out there surrounded by the water," Simon said.
"We were up rapping and laughing, singing and dancing all night. It was just a fantastic night with all the closest people to us, we had a blast."
After getting engaged in 2019, the Covid-19 pandemic had and impact on their original wedding plans.
Simon shared: "After I proposed in December 2019 we said we would give ourselves a year and a half to prepare. But we were actually waiting on restrictions to stop, some would stop in France and some start in Ireland and vice versa."
"We just didn't know when we could start telling people a date and venue. So we just decided on a small ceremony first to make it official and we will go to Spain next year to do the big day."
While they may not have gotten the weather in Kerry, they certainly got it in Spain, with the stunning snapshots showcasing the beautiful, sunny setting.
Simon announced earlier this year that is retiring. He has 72 Munster tries in 173 appearances to date, making him the province’s record try-scorer.
He has also earned 35 caps for Ireland between 2012 and 2017, winning the Six Nations in 2015 and featuring in the Rugby World Cup the same year.
Elvira is a renowned figure in the beauty industry thanks to the success of her brand Sofia Juliette Paris.
