Irish Open LIVE final round up

Home favourite Rory McIlroy will be looking to end a rollercoaster 2024 with a win at Royal County Down this afternoon as he holds a slender one-shot lead at the top of the leaderboard.

It has been an up-and-down year for the Holywood man as he suffered heartbreak at both the Olympic Games and the US Open.

With three wins under his belt already this year, McIlroy will be desperate to capture his second Irish Open crowd.

The Down native put together a near flawless two-under-par third round in tough conditions to surge up to the top of the leaderboard but despite this he has Italian Matteo Manassero hot on his heels just one shot behind.

McIlroy and Manassero will tee it up at 1.05 pm while Ryder Cup teammate Bob MacIntyre is in the group behind at 12.55 pm.

RTE Two will broadcast coverage of the golf from 12.30 pm and it can be streamed on the RTE Player. Sky Sports Xtra will also show the event live.

We will have updates live from Royal County Down all throughout the afternoon and will have all the reaction live from the course.

There are three other Irish players in action this morning with amateur Sean Keeling teeing off at 7.21 am while Shane Lowry is in action at 10.15 am. Seamus Power plays alongside Joost Luiten at 11.10 am.

Fast start for Shane Lowry and Seamus Power

Shane Lowry is two-under-par for his round and is now tied 16th with Seamus Power as the Irish duo kick start their rounds.

Three-over-par round for Sean Keeling

It'll likely be a 67th place finish for up-and-coming amateur Sean Keeling.

He scored a three-over-par final round and a very respectable finish for the 17-year-old. Hopefully there is plenty more to come from the youngster.

Bob MacIntyre will tee it up at 12.55 and is three shots behind McIlroy.
